Major Rookie REP Extend Winning Streak to Four Games
The Belore Trailers Major Rookie REP Boys opened their London DBA season defeating the Dorchester Diamondbacks 20-4 behind some big hits and timely at bats from all the players. Tanner Belore led the charge for the Ironbirds with two triples and a double, with Sam House, Westin Matsumoto, Nathan Kapitor collecting three hits as well. The boys solid defense snuffed out any potential momentum that the Diamondbacks attempted to mount behind solid defense in the infield. Ryan Wolfe was the Defensive Player of the Game with his solid catching and his vocal leadership throughout the game.
Thursday night the Ironbirds travelled to Thorndale and came away with another convincing 23-9 victory. The Ironbirds "flew" out of the gates scoring fourteen runs in the games first two innings. Colton Macpherson, Colton Cumberland and Brandon Plaquet led the charge for the Ingersoll boys with three hits apiece. Westin Matsumoto was his Gold Glove self at first base with an outstanding catch in foul territory and scooping two throws out of the dirt earning the top Defensive Player of the Game.
