IRONBIRDS WIN LONDON BADGERS TOURNAMENT
Third Time is a Charm
This past weekend the Ingersoll Ironbirds captured the London Badgers Tournament defeating the St. Thomas Cardinals 7-3 on the Finals. Ingersoll has been unsuccessful the last two trips to the Badgers tournament, and were looking to make a strong showing this year. Ingersoll jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom half of the second inning behind an RBI single by Wyatt Adkins, then followed up with a two run RBI single by Davin Gray. St. Thomas tagged Ingersoll starter Nolan McCrossin for three runs of their own in the top half of the third. McCrossin settled in the remaining of the game going 6 2/3 inning surrendering nine hits and six strikeouts, before passing the final out to Zack Fishback in the seventh inning.
Nolan McCrossin was named Tournament Finals MVP.
Collecting hits for Ingersoll were Adkins, Fishback , Gray, Martin, McCrossin and Gavin Bryant.
Ingersoll defeated the following teams on their way to the Tournament victory.
