Adkins & McCrossin Power Ironbirds to Weekend Split
Ironbirds Split Sunday Double Header vs. Waterloo

Sunday afternoon the Ingersoll Ironbirds Macnab Transit Pee Wee team hosted the Wateroo Tigers at Victoria Park. In game one Nolan McCrossin pitched the Complete Game giving up no runs, three hits, walking two Tiger batters and striking out six.
The Ingersoll bats came alive in the second inning when Zack Fishback led off with a double to the gap.  Ingersoll's centerfielder Wyatt Adkins stepped up to the plate and crushed a 1-1 pitch deep over the right field wall for his first home run of the season.  Ingersoll went on to score seven runs that inning with clutch doubles from Alex Schuett, Evan Hopson, Eli Newson and Gavin Bryant.  Collecting singles for Ingersoll were McCrossin, Adkins, Benham Martin, and Davin Gray.  Ingersoll went onto win the game in a five inning mercy 11-0.
Game two Ingersoll's bats went silent only collecting three hits behind Martin, McCrossin and Newson.  Zack Fishback went the distance and pitched a great game going the distance, giving up four hits, walking two, striking and out three Tiger hitters.  It was the first inning where Waterloo manufactured two runs behind two walks and two timely hits to give the Tigers the 2-0 victory.
Next up for the Ironbirds are the Cambridge Cubs Thursday night at Victoria Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
