2017 Brantford Minor Baseball Mosquito Tournament Champions!
An exciting weekend for Noah, Matty, Owen, Cole I, Brando, Nate K, Cole L, Nate P, Ty, Cole T and Nicky as they walked away with the trophy in Brantford this weekend!!!
Friday nights game was a tricky one against Beamsville, but Saturday was a new day!
Saturday morning's WIN against Uxbridge had Cole T on the mound for almost the entire game throwing his full 70...he allowed only 2 runs scored and heavy bats lead to a 14-2 win!
Saturday afternoon had us facing Mississauga North. Bats were HOT! Defense was even hotter! A 25-2 CRUSHING sent us to the Quarterfinals Saturday night!
The boys met up with Whitby in the Quarters....Nicky was HOT on the mound with 11 strikeouts! It was a tough fight defensively but a 9-2 WIN assured us a spot for Sunday!!
The semi's were a tough battle against Tecumseh! Late umpires lead to a cheer-off between the two teams as they killed time which showed the heart these two teams had! Ty was hot on the mound and threw a full 70 We traded the lead with them throughout the game but edged by a tough Tecumseh team 11-9! We were FINALS-BOUND!!
Championship game vs Welland....a tough opponent in the past but we were ready to fight! Brando hit the mound and threw smoke! Their bats were hot but our defense was even hotter! Our bats soon caught fire and we won the FINAL 8-3!!! So exciting and so awesome!!!
Congratulations Major Mosquito Ironbirds! You deserved the Championship Win after such a battle!!
