The Heat Was ON
A very,very early start on a sunny Saturday morning and a promise of a sweltering hot day for our girls did not deter them from gearing up and coming out and fighting hard on the red clay in Exeter.
The first 2 games had them facing some tough, tough pitching from Fullerton and Sebringville girls. The came up short in both but spirits were high, some quality chill-out time in the shade and a DQ break got them pumped and ready for their 3rd game against Goderich in the late afternoon intense heat.
Their bats woke up! 12 runs came in in the last 2 innings including a KILLER smack to centrefield by Kiara that brought in 3 runs and got her to third!
The PeeWee Girls came up just a wee bit short finishing 16-14 in favour of Goderich, but what an exciting end to a very hot day on the diamonds.
Girls, you should be so proud of yourselves! You all worked so hard on an exhaustingly sweltering day! WTG Ironbirds!!
