Silver Medals for Our Boys!!
What an awesome weekend in Wallaceburg it was for the Tirecraft Minor Mosquito REPS!

Saturday morning started off a little sleepy for the boys with a loss against Corunna, but they came back fighting, winning the next 3 games (including BEATING Corunna this time around....and what a beautiful win it was!) and finding themselves in the FINAL against the host Wallaceburg Warriors!

Each player had many memorable moments in the tough 5 game series, but some highlights include:

Cole L, for leading off the pitching and throwing some dynamite innings Saturday morning, and for hitting a smoking double and for a beautiful tag at third in the final......

Nate P, for also being stellar on the mound, for battling hard behind the plate for 2 full games, for hitting a few healthy shots including hitting a bullet past 2nd base and scoring us some runs....

Noah, for catching some great flies out in right field, and for wicked speed base running, a close call at first chasing down the out, ...now if only that foul ball to the moon was FAIR, Wallaceburg would STILL be chasing it......

Willie was HOT at bat...hit a few rockets and his wheels made him fly around the bases many, many times....

Cole I (a.k.a. "Big Poppy) jumped in to save us on the mound in the SEMIS and the  FINAL with a few strikeouts, and some pretty sweet bunts to get his wheels turning around the bases and scored us some runs....

Ty Ty pitched for us in the FINAL and was spectacular on the mound, hit a line drive double to centrefield and his defensive plays as shortstop saved us time and time again....

Nicky pitched a gem against Corunna in the SEMI final, played big D on short and 2nd base and hit a hard triple....

Tucks defended homeplate for 3 games and picked off players at 2nd and 3rd base in the process, and clobbered 2 3-run triples in game 1 and in the SEMI....

And BRANDO's play at 1st base against Corunna in the SEMI FINAL should be on Sportsnet's "Plays of the Week" with a dive for a one-hopper along the first base line and then ran to the base to make the out.  Pillar and Donaldson are looking for tips......

What a GREAT weekend boys.  I know I've missed some highlights, I'm sure, but these stuck out and you all played so WELL!!  You should be proud of yourselves because we are....
