A HOT Summer Slam Weekend in Dorchester
Our Minor Mosquito REP boys showed ready to battle anyone who they were facing in Dorchester this weekend!

Battle #1 saw them facing Kitchener Friday night. It took an inning or two to get the bats heated up but when they did, Kitchener proved to be a fair match to our boys. The Ironbirds finished up Kitcheners top pitcher early, and that lead to a close 12-10 WIN for our boys.

Battle #2 was an early morning attack on Cambridge. Their bats were just as hot as the burning sunshine, maybe moreso! The second inning saw every player up to bat at least 3 times, and the ball was getting smacked all over the field!! Cole L pitched the entire game and was awesome!!! In less than 3 innings, our Ironbirds were ahead 34-1 for WIN #2! Awesome RBI's by Ty, Nate, Cole T, Cole L, Matty, Nicky, Noah, Willie and Brando!!

Battle #3 was a very, very HOT afternoon game agaisnt Ilderton! TheIlderton A's got a quick 3 runs in the first inning but then our bats heated up! RBI's galore! Cole T, Nicky & Ty smoked a couple of sweet runs in and it didnt take long to pull ahead of Ilderton. With some great control on the mound by Ty & Nate, and some great defensive plays by Brando at 1st and a Pillar-like centrefield catch by Cole T, the Ironbirds walked away with WIN #3 in the tourney. they were now on their way to the Semi-Finals Sunday morning!!!

Battle #4 proved to be the toughest one of all for our boys in orange. Facing the very tough North London Nationals. Their pitcher was stellar, but our boys soon got a hold of a couple. It was certainly a fight as the National bats were on fire. Nicky was a true warrior in this battle, with a tremendous triple getting the Ironbirds on the board, catching 2 hard line drives in the infield and turning a double play racing a runner back to the bag getting him out. Our whole team fought to the very end (not to mention dealing with 4 truly questionable calls by the Umpies) but they came up short with a 14-4 loss in the end.

So proud of our soldiers this weekend.  So much drive, so many smiles, so much spirit (Wille & Ty keep the chants going!!) and so much talent.  WTG Minor Mosquito boys!!!
